“Digital security is the fundamental prerequisite for unlocking the full potential of AI in business, public administration and politics. NENNA.AI provides an innovative answer to this challenge: our advanced masking technology ensures that confidential and classified information is not transmitted to AI providers. This technical solution offers an additional layer of protection that goes beyond mere legal compliance.", says Kassandra Büttner.

The Big Bang Innovation Award 2026 is presented by the German Institute for Service Quality and DUP UNTERNEHMER business magazine. The aim is to “recognise outstanding achievements in innovation within the German economy in a targeted and high-profile manner”.

The patron of the award is Brigitte Zypries, former Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Justice. She emphasises: “The Big Bang Innovation Award shines a spotlight on Germany’s most important resource: the innovative spirit of its entrepreneurs. The prize honours achievements that drive progress and serve as role models for entire industries. This deserves an appropriate platform.”

Innovations that create genuine added value

This year, 18 projects were recognised across eleven categories, including, for example, TÜV Nord for AI-assisted auditing. The 13-member jury comprised distinguished figures from business, academia and the media, including Brigitte Zypries, Dr Oliver Reichel-Busch of Lufthansa Group, Prof. Dr Johanna Gollnhofer of the University of St Gallen, and Arno Walter from V-Bank.

Furthermore, for the first time this year the DUP editorial team presented a curated editorial prize to 35 projects, also across eleven categories. Alongside established industry names such as Sebamed and Strato, start-ups such as NENNA.AI were also awarded.

“This award is particularly special for our team because we didn’t apply for it ourselves. Instead, we were nominated by the expert jury and recognized with the award,” saysLars Moll, CEO and Co-Founder.

In an increasingly digitalised world, secure and trustworthy solutions for protecting personal data are essential. By awarding the prize in this category, the jury has confirmed that NENNA.AI has developed a solution that is not only technologically innovative but also delivers economic benefits. In doing so, nenna.ai GmbH is contributing to an important societal objective: building trust in digital technologies through robust security standards.
