AI meets sports at the AI Sports Summit 2025 in Wolfsburg – organised by Transform Sports. The AI Sports Summit demonstrated how the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence can optimise the sports industry in the long term. It also focused on creating concrete future prospects for employees and supporting them with training.

Exciting breakout sessions delved deep into topics surrounding AI and data privacy in the sports business. With our presentation at 15:30, "AI Courage over Data Fear: How companies can work with all AI models in compliance with the EU AI Act", we demonstrated how personal data can be effectively protected when working with tools like ChatGPT, DeepL, Gemini & Co. – GDPR-compliant and secure.
In his keynote speech: "The State of AI in Sports Business", Philipp Ostsieker revealed that 52% of sports clubs are already working with AI and plan to invest in tools and platform licences. Here are the main areas of application:
Media & Communication (26%)
Marketing (20%)
Administration & Project Management (19%)

The main focus here was on usage across various offices, data privacy, and the correct handling of partner and fan data in generative AI applications – whether club, league, association, brand, or agency.
This is exactly where our presentation came in: NENNA.AI focuses on data privacy in AI applications, avoiding shadow IT, and the secure management of sensitive data in club and agency structures. We bring practical experience and use cases directly to the discussion. Data protection is more than just compliance – it is a key trust factor! What could be more important for clubs than protecting the sensitive data of fans and sponsors?
We had some great discussions: two of our co-founders, Lars Moll and Florian Spengler, were there. If you have any questions about NENNA.AI or the summit, please feel free to reach out to us at any time.
The other presentations, which gave us insights into working with AI in corporate environments, were also highly engaging:
➡️ Andreas Heyden, Daniel Könnecke, and Dr. Kai Rippe spoke about integrating AI into already established business models. (Dyn Media GmbH, Deloitte Consulting, and SPORTFIVE)
➡️ Sven Lorenz, Head of Group Data & AI at Volkswagen Group, reported on the practical implementation of working with AI at VW.
